We're a family business that started life making good honest pet food for working dogs and supermarkets. It was a fantastic start with formulations for Sainsbury's and Linda McCartney. However, we found that customers had little guidance on what to feed their pets. Choosing the right food was a minefield and the level of service seemed non-existent. Getting it right was so important because, just like humans, pets 'are what they eat'.

We have always believed that when it comes to nutrition it's too important to settle for second best. In 1993, we took matters into our own hands and the first Oscar franchise was established. The Complete Pet Care Service was born and since then Oscar has kept a firm focus on the developments in pet food manufacturing, while devoting time to its growing franchise network.

Our founder Martin Dancy (BSc Animal Nutrition) owned the original Oscar. Oscar the Great Dane, was our proud mascot and many people will remember him as a friendly addition to the company. 

We discovered that a local Oscar Nutritional Advisor is the best person to give friendly, expert advice. Whether the pet is fat or thin, young or old, healthy, has allergies or is generally tearing the place apart, Oscar can help. Our aim is to make life easier for pet owners across the UK.
