ServiceMaster was first established in the United States in 1929. The business introduced the innovation of cleaning carpets within a customer's home. Rapid growth followed over the next 20 years and in 1949 the Company began expanding across the USA through the Franchising business model.

ServiceMaster franchising was introduced to the UK in 1959. Additional services such as office cleaning (Contract Services), furniture repairs (Furniture Medic), maid services (Merry Maids) and Lawn care treatments (TruGreen) were added over the next 45 years.

The ServiceMaster franchise provides you with a unique package, where each facet complements and enhances your ability to succeed. As a ServiceMaster Franchisee we can offer you four different franchise types:

1) ServiceMaster Disaster Restoration services (cleaning up after fire & flood emergencies for insurance companies from work supplied by our call centres) Can be run from home.

2) ServiceMaster Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning in Residential properties (Cleaning in residential properties from work generated from care labels) Van based. Can be run from home.

3) ServiceMaster Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning in Commercial Properties (Cleaning in commercial properties from work generated locally and nationally). Van based. Can be run from home.

4) ServiceMaster Contract Services (The provision of daily office cleaning in commercial buildings for local and national companies, from work generated locally and nationally)

ServiceMaster believes that training is the key to the performance of management supervisory and technical personnel and provides thorough initial training followed by regular re-training sessions designed to upgrade technical and human skills. Training comprises of a two-week home study course, followed by a two-week residential course, followed by operations support to help you launch your business.
