French clothing company opens franchise store in Ireland

Posted on: 13/08/2008

Young Waterford husband-and-wife Trevor and Maeve Cooke have opened the first of what they plan will be a chain of ‘Orchestra' outlets at Georges Street in Waterford City.

The new propreitors have announced that they have chosen children's charity Barnardos as their charity for this year and that they will be supporting various fund-raising projects.

The Orchestra brand was created by Chantal and Pierre Mestre in 1995, when they developed an original brand of children's clothing in order to satisfy their need for trendy, affordable, different clothing for their own four children. Their clothes are now sold in 480 stores around the world.

The new Waterford store is a children's clothes shop with a difference – it's designed and equipped to keep small children occupied while parents can browse in comfort, with lots of space to manage buggies. Clothes come in outfits where all items are matching, even down to matching jewellery/hair accessories and shoes, providing a ‘one-stop' shop for dressing children up to 14 years old.

Maeve Cooke commented: "We are delighted to have won the franchise for all of Ireland. We have two children of our own and are passionate about providing good quality clothing at affordable prices the Orchestra brand really suits our ethos"
