Just Junk.com, a Niagara-based junk removal service, is opening their first Toronto franchise. Mike Thorne, President, says: “We’re really excited about breaking into the Toronto junk removal market. We see Toronto as having almost unlimited potential.”
The new franchise will be owned and operated by Tom Dickson, a graduate of Georgian College’s Business Administration Automotive Marketing diploma program.
The professional junk removal industry has grown substantially in recent years for a number of reasons; aging baby boomers wanting to downsize and no longer willing or able to haul junk to the curb, the mushrooming home renovations market, and the shorter life cycle of many manufactured products are all contributors.
Just Junk supports the communities they serve and assist with numerous environmental community initiatives. Tom Dickson firmly believes in Just Junk’s environmental awareness programs: “People always want to be more environmentally conscious when they are getting rid of their materials but they don’t know how – we are the perfect solution”.
Over 60 per cent of the material Just Junk removes from homes and businesses is either recycled or donated to local charities. Just Junk ensures that the remaining material is disposed of for further processing at the landfill or transfer stations.
