Voyager Capital, a leading West Coast venture capital firm, has opened an office in Portland, Oregon. The firm has also added Diane Fraiman, a seasoned technology strategist, as a Venture Partner, to focus on Internet, software and digital media investments in the Pacific Northwest, particularly in Oregon.
Erik Benson, Managing Director of Voyager Capital, explained: "While we've been actively investing in the Portland market since 2000, we've decided to establish an on-the-ground presence in the market due to an increasing level of entrepreneurial activity in the region. Diane has a proven track record of adding value to startups in the disciplines of go-to-market strategies as well as business and ecosystem development. Her leadership and experience will be invaluable as we grow our Portland office."
Ms Fraiman commented: "My passion is to invest in Portland. By joining Voyager, I can accelerate my support of the region's entrepreneurs and keep my finger on the pulse of the great work that is coming out of the universities and early stage companies as the entire Portland ecosystem continues to grow."
