A seminar cum exhibition titled “Franchise Entrepreneurship During Economic Recovery” will be held on Friday to provide insights on franchising.
The event, which is free of charge, would give participants an understanding on how franchising was a better alternative to starting a business of their own, Dr Jeffrey Goh, chief co-ordinator of the MCA Youth economic task force, told a press conference yesterday.
Topics include how to find opportunities despite challenging times, intellectual property in franchising and why the franchise model will ride the economic uncertainty.
He said the event, which was organised by the task force and Asiawide Franchise Sdn Bhd, would be held at Dewan San Choon, Wisma MCA at Jalan Ampang from 8.30am to 6pm.
The Malaysian Franchise Association, Perbadanan Nasional Bhd, Companies Commission of Malaysia, Asean Retail-Chains and Franchise Federation and several banks would be present at the exhibition.
Also taking part are franchises such as Action Coach, Cambridge English For Life, Krista Education, Leno, Manhattan Fish Market, Sunrider International and others.
To ensure seats, Goh said those who were keen to attend should register early.
