Telecommunications reseller and franchisor Telcoinabox has today been ranked the 20th fastest growing franchise system in Australia in the 2010 BRW magazine's Fast Franchise.

This is the third consecutive year Telcoinabox has made the listing; it was the tenth top franchise in Australia in 2009 and the number one franchise in 2008. 

Telcoinabox founder, Damian Kay, said building the business based on a franchise-focused business model is the reason why the company has been so consistently successful year after year. 

“Making our franchisees’ jobs easier has always been our focus. It’s this single driver that has gotten us to where we are today.” 

Although franchising accounts for approximately 35 per cent of the business, Telcoinabox has not lost sight of why they are still in the top tier of franchises. 

“If we hadn’t chosen franchising to break into the telecommunications market eight years ago we wouldn’t have taken the plunge to build such an innovative and robust infrastructure to support our franchisees’ business growth. 

“Our infrastructure has now become the foundation of our business and profit centre.

"In fact, over 65 per cent of our customers are established reseller companies who have telecommunications expertise. They like the fact that we supply the entire back-end and service support and they just have to market the offer through their existing customer channels. 

“We have seen an incredible upswing in uptake from these customers over the last year, which has pushed our revenues up 47 per cent this financial year.”  

Kay said innovation in the areas of billing systems, wider product ranges or negotiating more competitive deals with wholesale providers has been responsible for the franchise growth.

Telcoinabox has 109 franchisees and currently 54 are in training to become own telecommunications business.   Telcoinabox provides its telecommunications services to customers in Australia, New Zealand and the UK.
