Business integrity, community service and support for other women entrepreneurs has landed Sue Olson, executive director of Kidzart in Traverse City Michigan, the Salute!
To Women in Business award. The award is given by Marigold, an organization that promotes women’s business opportunities through entrepreneurship and career development, who honors local business women each week.
KidzArt is very proud that Sue Olson was chosen as a recipient of Marigold's award, says Shell Herman, CEO of KidzArt, an international art enrichment franchise company. She's very passionate about her business and what it offers the children in the local community. She always makes it a priority to give back to the community and also offer advice to other women entrepreneurs.
KidzArt offers a unique art curriculum for kids, from preschoolers to teenagers, and senior citizens too. Classes are small, up to 15 enrollees, to maximize the amount of attention paid to each student. The program teaches how to express and gain greater self-confidence through drawing and providing students with a full range of visual arts activities in 2 and 3D mediums.
In addition to after-school art programs, Olson provides art birthday parties and art camps during school vacations and the summer break. She also offers programs during the holiday season that allow children to engage in art activities while their parents shop.
As an award recipient, Olson will featured guest on Mary in the Morning on 106.7 YOU-FM radio and she'll be honored at the Williams Honda Salute to Women in Business Luncheon at the Marigold Business Conference in September 2009.
