A high-end cookware franchise is coming back to Wichita.
Jared Martin is the franchise owner of Saladmaster, which manufactures and sells custom cookware that promotes healthier eating.
Saladmaster franchises are located across the United States and in 40 foreign countries.
It’s a cookware system that cooks food on half the heat in half the time, Martin says. It preserves 93 percent of the enzymes, vitamins and minerals by the way it cooks. ... Basically it cuts all the fat and cholesterol out of the food preparation.
In the next three months, Martin will be looking to acquire a storefront in either Andover or northeast Wichita and is looking to hire 15 to 20 full- and part-time sales people. Currently, he is operating the business out of his home.
Martin says Saladmaster had a store in Wichita in the early 1970s and again in the mid-90s, but those stores have since closed.
Martin was a salesperson at Saladmaster in Wichita in the mid-90s. Since then, he has worked as the finance director at Davis-Moore Auto Group and with Fiest Yellow Book.
