Yogen Fruz Signs Master Franchise for South Florida

Posted on: 18/06/2008 Yogen Fruz, a frozen yogurt chain with over 1,100 stores in more than 20 countries, has signed a master franchise agreement with Frozenguy LLC, a Miami based company. The agreement will bring 21 stores to south Florida over the next eight years and is part of a major program to secure a considerable scoop of the U.S. frozen yoghurt market for Yogen Fruzs signature create-your-own frozen yogurt and fruit blends. The company has granted exclusive development rights to Frozenguy LLC for south Florida, including Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties. Yogen Fruz also has master franchise agreements in the Chicago, San Francisco and Los Angeles metropolitan areas, with the first two stores having opened recently in Chicagos Woodfield Shopping Center and San Franciscos Embarcadero Center. The company is planning for up to 1,000 U.S. outlets by 2018, ranging from small kiosks to mid-sized inline stores and larger sit-down outlets in strip plazas and shopping malls. Aaron Serruya, President of Yogen Fruz, said: South Florida has ideal demographics for frozen yogurt stores, not to mention the kind of weather where frozen treats are appealing year-round. This area was therefore a major target for our development efforts. This agreement is an important step in our plans to lead the frozen yogurt category in the U.S. and we are fortunate to have the Frozenguy LLC group help us focus on growth in this area.
